Mr. Wayne F. Tierney, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 3 at his residence. He was born 58 years ago in Hartford, Ct., the son of the late John and Eloise (Lagace) Tierney. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, and was also a graduate of Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Wayne was a lifelong city resident. He was employed as a Registered Nurse for S.R.S. in Taunton for many years and also performed private duty nursing. He was previously employed at the Chateau Restaurant in Norwood for several years. Many years ago, Wayne was a professional ballroom dancer. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
He leaves: 2 brothers: John G. “Jack” Tierney and his wife, Edna of Taunton, and Michael W. Tierney of Taunton; 1 sister: Lynne Snyder and her husband, James of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Thursday, June 7 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Taunton Animal Shelter, 821 W.
