Oberto, Ruth H. (Rupprecht) 88, formerly of Belmont and Plymouth and wintered in St. Petersburg, FL for many years. Passed away at the Bay Path Nursing in Duxbury June 1. Loving wife of the late Peter J. Oberto. Devoted mother of John P. Oberto of Andover, MA, Peter P. Oberto of Plymouth, MA, Janice Norling (Oberto) of St Petersburg, FL, Stephen R. Oberto of Litchfield, NH, and Robert Oberto of Vancouver, WA. Sister to Patricia Harrison, Marjorie Calvert, Regina Fitzgerald, Pauline Leavens, and Robert Rupprecht. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born in Quincy the daughter of Robert and Margaret Rupprecht and after high school she went to St Elizabeth’s School of Nursing graduating in the Class of 1945. She continued working at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital becoming the Head Nurse in the Children’s Ward. After her marriage to her late husband Peter she left her nursing career to raise her 5 children. Ruth was a devoted mother and loved to cook and spend time with her family.
A funeral Mass will be held at St Bonaventure’s Parish on Wednesday June 6, at 10:00 AM leaving from The Richard Davis Funeral Home 619 State Road (Rte 3A) Plymouth, (Manomet) at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday June 5, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. Burial will be in the Manomet Cemetery.
