MARY (LuPRIORE) MATHERWIEZ 91Mary (LuPriore) Matherwiez of Newton Upper Falls died on Tuesday April 27 at the Wingate Nursing Home of Needham. Born in Boston, Mary moved to Newton in 1914 and became a life long resident. She was a Women’s Club Member for over 50 years and was a member of the Women’s Sodality of the Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church of Newton Upper Falls. Mrs. Matherwiez was a volunteer at the Well Baby Clinic of Newton and at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Roxbury. She was also Ward Clerk for Newton Voters for over 30 years.She was the beloved Wife of the late Joseph F. Matherwiez and dear mother of Joan M. Kearney and her husband Bernard D of Needham, Robert Matherwiez and his wife Barbara of Needham, Lucille A. Matherwiez of Wellesley, and Mary Louise Matherwiez of Wellesley. Mary was the dear sister of Leonard LuPriore of Harwich and Venice FL, Anthony LuPriore of Westerly RI. And the late Rose LuPriore, Louise Bottone and Patrick Priore. Loving grandmother of Kimberly Janusjewski and her husband David of Greenwich CT, Wendy M Perri and her husband Dave of Needham and Paul R Matherwiez and his wife Jaynia of Newton and Great Grandmother of Jack, Charlie &Whitney Janusjewski and Will Perri.Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Friday at 8:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton Upper Falls at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment at ST. Mary’s Cemetery.
