Helen R. (Hebshie) Henry, age 79, of Brockton, died June 2, 2012 at Signature Healthcare, Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of Norman M. “Scottie” Henry. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Farhat and Josephine (Rafoul) Hebshie. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1950. For many years she was employed by Davis Clothing Company and retired from Cape Cod Casuals. She was a loving, caring woman who put everyone’s interests ahead of her own. She loved time spent with her family and dancing with her husband, and also enjoyed reading, cooking and walking. She was a lifelong member of St. Theresa Maronite Church and a member of the Amalgamated United Women’s Garment Workers Union.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Wendy Bewley and her husband Michael, Denise Vernaglia, and Sherre B. Thetonia all of Norton and Frank B. Thetonia, III of Brockton; three grandchildren, Laura and Eric Bewley and Mark Vernaglia; two great grandchildren Connor and Emily Rams and two generations of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of Frederick Hebshie and John F. Hebshie both of Brockton, Lila Shaker of Fall River and the late Nancy Dastous, Mary Ball, Alma Hinglebine, Barbara Daly and James, Samuel and Edward Hebshie. She was the former wife of Frank B. Thetonia, Jr. of Taunton.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 4-8pm with the service of incense at 5pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9am. The Service of the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Theresa Maronite Church, 343 N. Main Street, Brockton at 10am.
