Catherine Ann (Fornaro) Jones, 82, a lifelong Natick resident, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 1, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late James Jones who passed away in 1973 and with whom she shared 22 years of marriage.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Long) Fornaro, Catherine attended the Natick Public Schools and graduated from Natick High School in 1947. She was a switchboard operator for many years working at the Natick Answering Service, Natick Cab, and the Leonard Morse Hospital. Paramount in Catherine’s life was caring for her beloved family. Not only did Catherine unconditionally love her children and grandchildren, but she also welcomed numerous members of her extended family into her home through the years. She enjoyed reading, music, and watching old movies. Catherine was also a participant in the Relay for Life.
She is survived by 5 children, Karen Jones and her partner Terri Nace of Ashland, Margaret Jones, James Jones, John Jones, and Janet Jones Roy and her husband James all of Natick; 5 grandchildren, Katie Jones Slattery and her husband Alan, Erin Jones, Tammy Murzycki and her husband Jeff, Mackenzie Roy, and Madison Roy; 3 great-grandchildren, Leah, Braden, and Desmond; 2 sisters, Rosalie Porter of Ashland and Barbara Fornaro of Natick; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was pre-deceased by her stepmother, Jennie Fornaro and her brother Placido Fornaro.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Catherine’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 8:00 AM to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 3-8 PM. Those wishing to remember her may do so through memorial donations to a charity of one’s own choosing.
