Hilda (Cravinho) Newton, 90, of New Bedford died Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the wife of the late Norman Newton.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph A. Cravinho and Adelaide (Nascimento) Rose, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Newton was formerly employed at the John I. Paulding Company until her retirement.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Ethelynne Brites, Adelaide Ptasienski, Angelina Frates, Lorraine Carreira, Albert A. Cravinho, Michael S. Cravino, and Joseph Cravino.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Friday August 3, 2012 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
