Helen Frances Cole Hirschy passed away peacefully on May 9, 2012 at the age of 96. She was born in East Providence, RI, daughter of the late Gertrude (Sherman) and W. Lee Cole. She married Ernest C. Hirschy in 1941, who predeceased her in December, 2009.
Helen was the first woman school bus driver in the City of Taunton. She was an avid reader and gardener, and along with Ernie was a life member of the Taunton Garden Club. In their retirement they toured many countries. Helen is survived by her children David and his wife Hope, Donald and his wife Charlene and Audrey (Hirschy) Terry and her husband Stephen. Grandchildren Delana, Nathaniel, Matthew and Zachariah Hirschy. Great grandchildren Cole and Chace Hirschy. Visiting hours will be held for both Helen and Ernest on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM immediately following at 11:00 will be a Memorial Service at Christ Community Church, 518 Middleboro Ave., East Taunton, MA.
