Mr. Tyre Gay
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, May 30, 3012, Mr. Tyre Gay, 81, husband of Mrs. Demaris Gay.
Mr. Gay was a native of Jenkins County but lived most of his life in Augusta. He was a veteran of the US Army. Later he began a career with Western Electric that lasted for 29 years. Most of all Tyre loved his family and birthplace. He was a member of Curtis Baptist Church.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Teresa and husband Len Johnson; sisters: Tommie Canady, Rebie Johnson, and Eris Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ream and Jessie Gay; brothers: Riner, Delean and Muris Gay; and sister: Margaret Blackburn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
