Obituary

Robert J. Frechette 85, of Franklin, and a former Medway resident, died peacefully Tuesday morning May 29, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care and rehabilitation Center in Franklin, following a long illness.
Born in Waltham, June 1, 1926 a son of the late Henry and Yvonne (Lizotte) Frechette, he grew up in the greater Waltham and Newton area. He was a retired carpet installer.
He served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He entered the service from Watertown, in May 1944, and was honorably discharged in May 1946. He attained the rank of Seaman 2nd class and served aboard the USS Indiana, and the USS Missoula APA 211. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, the American Theater Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal with 5 Bronze Stars.
He leaves several area and out of state relatives.
His funeral service with full military honors will be held Friday June 1, 2012 at 9:30AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Interment will follow.
There are no calling hours.
