Elizabeth "Betty" Rondeau 95, of Mendon Rd. died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at The Holiday in Lincoln. She was a resident of Wyndemere Woods for five years prior to her stay at The Holiday. She was the devoted wife of the late Roland W. Rondeau for nearly sixty years. She was born on January 31, 1917 in Woonsocket , and was a daughter of the late Rt. Rev. Costache and Vasilichia (Alexis) Belba. Mrs. Rondeau was a textile worker in several area mills including the Manville Jenckes for several years before retiring in 1968. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and a dedicated homemaker. Her gentle and loving ways will be sorely missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Giordano and her husband Tom of Bloomfield, CT and Jeannine Rondeau Keedy and her husband Nathan of Natick, MA, two brothers Peter (Pondu) Belba and his wife Amelia of Uxbridge, MA, and Charles Belba and his wife Ginny of Duarte, CA, two sisters; Mary Gaudet of Atlanta, GA and Lillian Cianci of Cumberland, five grandchildren, Molly and Rachel Keedy, Deb Roberts, Suzanne Giordano, and Lori Bennett, and eight great-grandchildren Korey, Trevon, Nick, Alex, Jacob, Sammy, Lyla and Richard. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Muriel Belba of FL and several nieces and nephews and their extended families. She was also the sister of the late Lionel, Liber, Steve, James, and Thomas Belba, Flora Thompson, and Alice Scanlon.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 2 at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Church, South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting Hours are Friday, June 1, 5-7 PM.
