Joyce W. Ross, age 80, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Ross was born on November 8, 1931, in McAlpin, FL to the late John Elmer Welch and Thelma Virginia Vann Welch.
Survivors include: her daughter: Susan (Dale) Kirkland, of Hazlehurst, GA; two sisters: Linda (Ron) Manning, of Jacksonville, FL and Wanna Welch, of Ocala, FL; two grandchildren: Matt Kirkland, of Brunswick, GA and Michael Kirkland, of Screven, GA; and a special friend: Betty Thurman. She is preceded in death by her parents John Welch, Thelma Welch, and four brothers Berman Welch, Waymon Welch, Jerry Welch, and Clinton Welch.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 6-9 pm.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elisha Purvis, Jr. and Rev. Ben Glosson officiating. Interment followed at Satilla Memorial Gardens.
