David A. Lindsey
Former Tewksbury Little League Coach

TEWKSBURY: David A. Lindsey, age 74, a resident of Tewksbury for 40 years, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following an ongoing battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Cantrell) Lindsey, with whom he celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2012.
Born in Haverhill on February 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Ralph and Barbara (Dinsmore) Lindsey.
During his childhood, he resided in Amesbury, attended Amesbury schools and graduated from Sanborn High School in New Hampshire.
Following his high school years, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
For over 30 years beginning in 1972, he served as a coach for the "Red Sox", the "National All Star Teams" along with several other teams, for the Tewksbury Little League Baseball Program.
After retiring from coaching, Dave was always an avid Little League supporter and could always be seen attending games at the baseball fields.
Dave enjoyed many activities including collecting baseball cards, baseball autographs, and antique replica cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and nine grandchildren, Gary R. Lindsey and his wife Candice of Tyngsboro and their children, Jared Savary and Danica Lindsey, Donald E. Lindsey and his wife Susan of Pelham, NH and their children, Rianna, Calli and Casey Lindsey, Ruth E. Demers and her husband Kevin of Manchester, NH and their children, Daniel Jones, and wife Olivia and Lindsey Demers, David A. Lindsey, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Tewksbury and their children, Jack Lindsey and David Lindsey, III; one brother, Scott Lindsey; one sister, Sharon Sherfick; also many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, June 4, from 5-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Interment services will be held Tuesday, June 5, at 1 p.m., at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Tewksbury Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 69, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
