Edmond P. Kinney, 72, of Springfield, IL, formerly of North St. Paul, MN, died at 3:35 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at home in the presence of his daughters. He was born October 18, 1939 in River Falls, WI to Edmond P. and Frances L. Gavin Kinney. He married Shirley M. Mullen on May 26, 1962 and she preceded him in death in 1992. He was also preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father Coy Fennell, an infant son Edmond, and a brother Tom Kinney. Survivors include two daughters Jeanette (Guy) Potvin of North St. Paul, MN and Brenda (Brian) Davis of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren Colin, Gavin, Maya and Kiera; one sister Patricia Kinney of Bloomington, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Ed was a graduate of River Falls High School and a 1966 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Mr. Kinney has lived in Springfield since January 2000. He was an accountant for 3M Company for 30 years. He enjoyed the bus trips with the Senior Services of Central Illinois and was a proud stockholder in Green Bay Packers, Inc. Ed was an avid reader, loved history, playing cards, trivia and crossword puzzles. Mass of Christian Burial Monday (6/4) 10:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 4-7 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, and one hour prior to Mass at church. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
