Obituary

Salem: Robert J. LeBlanc, Sr., age 83 of Salem, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a long illness. He was the husband of Lillian M. (L’Heureux) LeBlanc, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Adrian and Mabel (Jedrey) LeBlanc.
A graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, he also attended Burdett College. In the late1940’s early ‘50’s he served with the National Guard. For many years, Bob was associated with his family’s LeBlanc Furniture Co., and also was a partner with his brother in LeBlanc Floor Coverings both of Salem. He later worked as store manager for Almy’s Department Store in Beverly and assistant manager for the Danvers store.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was his best when surrounded with lots of children. He was a member and a former chairman of the 21 Associates and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Salem Council.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 daughters, Suzanne M. LeBlanc of Long Beach, NY, Janet M. Dooley of Huntington Beach, CA, Anne M. Ouellette and her husband Richard of Jupiter, FL, Elizabeth M. Ouellette and her husband Gerard of Ipswich, Theresa M. Andrews and her husband Steven of Brewer, ME, 3 sons, Robert J. LeBlanc, Jr. and his wife Claire of Beverly, James G. LeBlanc and his wife Loren of Wildwood, Mo, Richard L. LeBlanc and his wife Janet of Salem, 3 brothers, George LeBlanc and his wife Helena of Sarasota, FL, Phillip LeBlanc and his wife Phyllis of Rotonda West, FL, Adrian LeBlanc and his wife Elva of Ft. Worth, TX, 1 sister, Eileen Szczechowicz of Agawam. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Monique Pizzedaz, Riley, Timothy, Kayla & Kristina LeBlanc, Heather Burleson, Tara Louviere, Jasmine Richardson, Sean, Keith, Ryan, Scott, Craig, & Lindsey Ouellette, Danielle Tower, Joshua Andrews and Renee Huff, 12 great-grand children and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, John R. LeBlanc, 2 brothers, Richard & Paul LeBlanc and a sister Claire LeBlanc.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 8:45 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by his funeral service in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours: Thursday 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
