Obituary

LEICESTER;John J. Kroyak 85 of 25 Laurelwood Ave.,died Thursday April 22 at home.He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and friends.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Catherine M. (Keegan) Kroyak, two sons John E. "Pat" husband of Mary Frances (O'Connor) Kroyak of Dennis Port, and Thomas G. Kroyak of Pittsfield, three daughters Margaret "Peggy" wife of Michael Caulfield of Palmer, Christine M. wife of Mark Goretti of Oxford and Elizabeth M. wife of Joseph Giobellina of W.Boylston, four sisters Frances Holland, Josephine Kroyak, Helen Kroyak and Mary O'Neil all of Worcester, 14 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a daughter Maureen A. Kroyak, a brother Rev. Edward Kroyak and a grandson Brian Kroyak. Mr. Kroyak worked at the former Webster Square Ice Arena for 28 years, and at Thoren's Dairy in Auburn before retiring in 1980. He then worked partime at Goretti's Market in Millbury until 2000.

He was an Army veteran of WWII serving under Gen. George Patton in Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the 4th. Armored Division Association and its' New England Chapter, and the VFW Post 7556 in Rochdale.He was a member of St. Pius X Church, past corporator of Leicester Savings Bank and former volunteer for FISH. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester in 1937.Born in Worcester, he was the son of Andrew and Sophie (Karbowski) Kroyak.

The funeral will be held Monday April 26 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St.,Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday, April 25 from 2 to 5p.m. Please omit flowers, contributions may be made to Abby's House Inc., 52 High St., Worcester, 01609.
