METHUEN – William D. “Bill” Kelleher, 88, a longtime Methuen resident passed away peacefully on Sunday May 27, 2012 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, MA after a period of declining health.
Born in Lawrence, MA on May 7, 1924, William was the son of the late John J. Kelleher and Eleanor L. (Hammond) Kelleher Strube. Bill received his education in Lawrence schools and was a 1941 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1951 graduate of Mass. Trade School in Boston. A veteran of World War II, Bill served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force in England.
Bill had been employed for many years at Oxford Paper Co. and Converse Rubber both in Lawrence and retired from Agfa Corporation in Wilmington, MA in 1989. In his earlier years, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening and boating. He attended St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen.
A 48 year resident of Methuen, Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Loretta R. (Dube) Kelleher on July 6, 2006. He was also the brother of the late J. Vincent Kelleher of Lawrence, MA.
Bill is survived by his son John W. Kelleher and his wife Donna L. of Methuen and a granddaughter Kristin L. Kelleher also of Methuen.

Family and friends may call on Thursday from 3:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00a.m. in St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
