Obituary

Walter R. “Ron” Visnor, 74 of Londonderry, NH died Monday May 28, 2012 in the Ridgewood Center, Bedford, NH. Ron was born in Boston, MA on September 7, 1937 a son of the late Walter and Elba (Bersacola) Visnor. Ron was a graduate of Central High School in Manchester, NH Class of 1955 and studied acting at the Institute of Arts in Manchester. He had worked at various jobs throughout his lifetime, including medical attendant at the NH State Hospital and as an orderly at Moore General Hospital, while attending a semester at UNH and St. Anselm’s College. He worked as a telephone operator and clerk at Manchester’s Carpenter Hotel, and was employed as the printer at Hermsdorf Manufacturing Company. Ron had resided in Londonderry since 1993. As an amateur climber he was lured to the mountains of NH. He was an avid reader and appreciated classical music. From his vast collection of his writings, a book “Sonnets of Ron Visnor” was published in 2006.
As a young man, Ron was an active member of Manchester’s Young Democrats, and later joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Treffrey) Visnor of Londonderry, his half-brother, David Samara and half-sister, Kim Samara both of North Hampton, NH. He was predeceased in December 2011 by his half-brother, William Samara of Auburn, NH
