Obituary

David L. Nunnally, 84, of New Bedford died April 24, 2004 at Blaire House after a long illness.

He was the husband of Sylvia (Oliver) Nunnally.

Born in Covington, Georgia, the son of the late Miles and Aramintha (Etchison) Nunnally, he had lived in New York City for most of his life before moving to New Bedford in 1990.

He was the proprietor of David's Shoe Repair for many years until his retirement.

Mr. Nunnally served in the U.S. Army during World War II, participating in the battles and campaigns of Algeria-French Morocco, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and the North Appenines. He was a recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign ribbon and the American Defense Service medal.

Survivors include his wife; a niece, Armintha Hamilton Grant of Bronx, NY; a nephew, Delano Hamilton of Atlanta, GA; and several cousins.

He was the brother of the late Arthur Nunnally and Ovie Hamilton.

His private Funeral Service was held on Monday, April 26th in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
