Obituary

Alfred J. “Snooky” Gaudet, Jr. ,74, of Barbara Ann Drive, died Sunday in the Golden Crest Nursing Center, North Providence. He was the former owner of The Club 44 restaurant in Smithfield for 47 years before retiring in 2001.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Alfred J. and Deborah C. (Crossman) Gaudet, Sr. He had lived in North Providence his entire life. He was a lifelong New York Yankee fanatic and Montreal Canadian fan. He was a charter member of the Smithfield Elks, BPOE 2359 and a member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society, Cranston.

He leaves his brothers, Calvin C. Gaudet of North Providence, Robert E. Gaudet and his wife Norma of Johnston and a nephew, Dr. Robert E. Gaudet, Jr., and his wife Kacie Chestnut Hill, MA.

His funeral will be held Thurday at 10am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston.
