Obituary

Mr. Louis J. “Huck” Folcik, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Friday, May 25 in Marian Manor. He was the beloved husband of the late Jean R. (Greene) Folcik. He was born 84 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Louis J. and Mary (Rogowski) Folcik, Sr. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a lineman for the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant for several years. He was also employed as a bartender at the Polish-American Citizens Club for many years. Louis was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served aboard the NTC Bainbridge, the USS Midway and the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was a member of the Polish-American Citizens Club, the AARP, and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. He enjoyed fishing, shellfishing, boxing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Taunton.
He leaves: 2 sons: Steven Folcik and his wife, Edie of Afton, Tenn., and Robert Folcik and his wife, Nancy of Taunton; 3 daughters: Nancy LeRoyer and her husband, Robert of Taunton, Mary LeClair and her husband, Paul of Taunton, and Janet Kingman and her husband, Terry of Taunton; 1 sister: Gloria Sroczynski of Somerset; 9 grandchildren: Kristen Stadalnik and her husband, John, Jennifer McDonald and her husband, Paul, Kimberly LeRoyer, Courtney LeRoyer, Lauren LeClair, Julie LeClair, Layne Kingman, Abbey Kingman and Gage Kingman; 2 great grandchildren: Taylor and A.J. Stadalnik, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, May 30 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
