Mrs. Margaret T. Jackson, age 77, of Reading and a former long-time resident of Winchester passed away peacefully on May 26th, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House of Reading following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Jackson and together they shared fifty-four years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Born in Everett, Margaret was one of two daughters of the late Patrick and Theresa (Kearney) Meaney.
Mrs. Jackson was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to spending time with her family. She loved taking trips to the beach in Portsmouth or to Marco Island in Florida. She was a veracious reader and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles during her leisure time. However, Margaret's greatest joy came from her family, she especially cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren of whom she was most proud of.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Margaret is predeceased by her son, the late Donald F. Jackson Jr., and her sister, the late Anne Lewis.
She is survived by her son, Michael Jackson and his wife Lisa of North Andover, Daughters, Theresa Deroo and her husband Richard of Reading, Kathleen Maida and her husband Charles of Stoneham, and daughter-in-law Victoria Jackson of North Reading. She was the loving grandmother of Richard and Jennifer Jackson, Caitlin and Casey Jackson, Alex, Evan, Melissa, and Brian Deroo, Dominic and Brendan Maida. She is also survived by her cherished niece, Gayl Lewis of Framingham.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Wednesday, May 30th, at 11:30 AM. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 12:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the mass from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
