Elaine Walters, 68, of Douglas, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Irwin County with the Rev. Joe Vaughn officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Walters was born May 30, 1943 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Harold “Petey” Smith and Betty Gordy Smith. She was a 1961 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and had lived in Douglas for the past 6 years, coming from Lake Blackshear. She was a former resident of Irwin County and was a paralegal for the law firm of Walters, Davis, Smith, Meeks & Pujadas. She was a member of Ocilla United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walters loved playing golf with her husband and camping together.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years: Victor Walters of Douglas; daughter and son-in-law: Debbie & Terry Spell of Douglas; son and daughter-in-law: Keith & Sherri Walters of Douglas; four grandchildren: Gavin Eckard, Quin Spell, Lainey Spell and Mallory Walters; two step-grandchildren: Breanna Wright and Halen Wright; and one sister and brother-in-law: Gail & John Parks of Tifton.
