Obituary





Pauline L. (Parenteau) Hunter, age 97 of Brockton died Thursday May 24, 2012 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late Thomas H. Hunter, Sr. and formerly lived at 80 Richmond Street. She was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Maglorie “Joe” and Lucy (Lessard) Parenteau. Pauline was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1933 and had been a lifelong resident of the city. Pauline, a cake decorator, was retired both from the former Bean Pot Bakery and Budges Seafood. She enjoyed braiding rugs, sewing, making dolls and antiquing with her late husband. Pauline loved to play the organ which she taught herself and also learned to paint at the age of 70. She will be remembered as a loving person and the glue that held the family together.

She is survived by a son Robert Hunter and his wife Brenda of Mansfield, six grandchildren Rob, Chris, Ryan, Donald, Barry and Karen and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Thomas Hunter, Jr. and sister of the late Blanche E. Cushing, Victoria Bernard, Leona O’Brien, Claudia Schroter, Mabel Dodero, Alice Parenteau, Joseph, Frank, Henry, Albert Parenteau and an infant Henry Parenteau.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish 631N. Main St. Brockton at 10am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
