Virginia Pate Hayslip, 74, of Martinez died Wednesday May 23, 2012, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Bro. Ronnie Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Old Valley Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Hayslip was born September 4, 1937 in Douglas, GA to the late Claude and Doris Fales King. She was a homemaker and a member of the Primitive Baptist Faith. Mrs. Hayslip was a former resident of Irwin County.
She is survived by her children, Leon and Cindy Pate of Appling, Sandra and Ernest Wentworth of Dawson, Rhonda and Monte Latka of Evans, Donald and Patsy Pate of Ocilla, Ronald Pate of Columbia Co., Elaine and Bobby Webb of McRae, Chris and Teresa Pate of Grovetown, and O.J. and Teresa Hayslip of Augusta; 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; brothers, Herbert King of Douglas, Willis King of Ft. Meade, FL and Winston King of Douglas: sisters, Recy Young and Brenda King both of Douglas; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Warnell Pate and Arthur Hayslip, a son, Rocky Allen Pate, two sisters and one brother.
