HOAGLAND, HAZEL MARIE, 71, of Louisville, passed away May 22, 2012 at Audubon Hospital.
She was a member of Highland Park Christian Church. All her life she enjoyed singing praises to her Lord. She graduated from Southern High School in 1958, from Ashbury College in 1962 with an AB Degree and then did post graduate work at Spalding University. She was a very dedicated substitute teacher in Jefferson County school system for 19 years teaching more than 50,000 students.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lee and Margaret Hoagland.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving sister, Alberta Harp; niece, Patricia Webb; a great niece, Autumn; great-nephew, Steven; an aunt, Mary Frances Hoagland; and many cousins and friends.
A service to honor her life will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Interment will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery in Shepherdsville, KY. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday, and after 11 a.m. on Friday.
