Titus R. Haywood, 88 died on Wednesday, May 16th, 2012. Mr. Haywood was a 48 year resident of Dumont, NJ. He was born in Raleigh, NC on September 12th, 1923 to the union of the late Chesley and Bertha Haywood. Titus Haywood was the beloved husband of Margurite for more than 60 years. Dedicated and loving “Dad” to his children: Rachelle, Timothy (deceased) and Titus, Jr. (deceased), Sandra, and Pennie; additionally also known as “PaPa” to his four granddaughters: Lynn’e, Brianna, Gabrielle, Elon and his honorary grandson, Valin Alveranga. He loved God and his family. He served as a Senior Deacon at Gethsemane Baptist Church of West New York, NJ for more than 50 years.
He was an independent, loving and generous person, not in what he said, but in what he did. He felt that “actions speak louder than words.” Everyone was family in his eyes.
