After graduating from Natick High School in 1943, Dorothy went on to earn her degree in nursing from the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1946, where she continued as a Registered Nurse for many years. She cherished and adored her children and grandchildren, traveling great distances to be at all of their extracurricular activities. Dorothy loved opera and classical music, gardening, drawing, she treasured nature and was an avid bird watcher. She was on a constant quest for knowledge and was a voracious reader. She also enjoyed playing golf, tennis, bingo and poker with family and friends. Dorothy found great peace and relaxation at her home on Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by 2 sons, Stephen Yancey and his wife Zane of Harwood, MD and David Yancey and his wife Cindy of Natick; 6 grandchildren, Ian, Heather, Stephanie, Brett, Jennifer, and Caitlyn; 1 great-grandson, Hunter; and 1 brother, Paul Hasgill of Natick.
