Obituary

WAYLAND: Bernice C. (Palmer) Wojcik, 87, died peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.
She was born in Somerville on July 17, 1924 the daughter of the late Carl A. Palmer and Amelia (Barone) Palmer.
Bernie was the devoted mother of Cathy Anne Paschal and her husband Carl E. Paschal of St. Simons Island, GA and Carl J. Wojcik and his wife Bianca J. Wojcik of Fairfax Station, VA. Beloved grandmother of Christopher A. and Cole A. Paschal both of St. Simons Island, GA and Abigail C., Charles J., Amelia J. and Camille S. Wojcik all of Fairfax Station, VA. She was the sister of Rita I. Burke of Wayland and Grace I. Bowen and her husband Robert H. Bowen of Wayland. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bernie was the wife for 49 years of the late Frank J. Wojcik who died on February 6, 2004 and sister of the late Lillian A. Adams.
Bernie has been a lifelong resident of Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1942. In her earlier years she was associated with the Raytheon Co. She has been a lifelong communicant of St. Zepherins Church and a former member of the St. Zepherins Womens Club and a member of the Legion of Mary. She loved to spend time gardening and puttering around her home in Wayland and also was a member of the Woodridge Garden Club. Bernie was a member of the ladies bowling league at Fairway Bowling until it recently closed. She enjoyed spending summers in Harwichport with her family and friends. She and her late husband Frank were devoted Boston Bruins fans. Bernie also spent many years as an election worker for local, state and national elections for Precinct Two in Wayland. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitations will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 9:00 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Wojcik family lot in St. Zepherin Cemetery in Cochituate Village, Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial gifts in Bernie’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
