Obituary

Mr. Eugene Killian, formerly of Taunton, died Saturday, May 19 in the Seashore Point Rehabilitation Center, Provincetown, following a period of failing health. He was born 92 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Pietrasz) Killian. He was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a foreman for the Mass. Highway Department of many years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Eugene was a member of the Polish-American Citizens Club in Taunton. He enjoyed playing golf, and was a kind a generous uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Taunton.
He leaves: a sister-in-law: Helen Killian of Provincetown, and several nieces and nephews, including his grand nephew, Stephen Desroches of Provincetown and his grand niece, Lisa (Desroches) Herbert of Wadsworth, OH., with whom he was very close. He was also the brother of the late Stanley Killian and Matthew Killian.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Wednesday, May 23 at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will precede the funeral, Wednesday, from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M.
