Stephen W. “Skip” Weber, Jr., 54, of North Truro passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 19th at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. He died of small cell carcinoma affecting his brain and lungs. Skip was the husband of Zana (Roderick) Weber of North Truro.
Born July 5th 1957 in Springfield, Mass, he was the son of the late Stephen W. and Joyce (Buckley) Weber. He was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School, class of 1975. He also earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Fisher Junior College.
A Coast Guard veteran, he served aboard the USCGC Dallas based at Governors Island, NY and then, at Coast Guard Station, Provincetown. After the service, he became a Sales Representative for the Prudential Life Insurance Company, serving the lower cape from 1983 until his disability forced him to retire.
Skip had a great passion for fishing and respect for the ocean. He enjoyed pond fishing, beach fishing, and the time he spent with family and friends fishing aboard his boat Zana’s Way.
In addition to his wife, daughters: Samantha Stockel & Brian Stockel of Alexandria, VA; Tasha Weber & Curtis Hoye of Holyoke, and Brandi Weber of North Truro survive him. Granddaughters Serena & Brynn Stockel, sisters Margaret Solitario and her husband Gerald Solitario of West Springfield, Valarie Revels and her husband Ronald Revels of Tucson, AZ. as well as many other loving family and friends also survive him. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Anne Weber.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St Peter the Apostle Church, Prince Street, Provincetown. Burial will be private.
