Obituary

Robbien Roberson Hall, 74, of Chula died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Victory Baptist Church in Tifton. Rev. Dan Eidson will officiate and Chaplains of the Pilot Truck Stop Ministries will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be no grave site services.

Mrs. Hall was born on March 2, 1938 in Sunsweet/Chula and was the daughter of Robert Lamar Roberson and Lucy Ellis Roberson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Berry. She retired as an Engineering Clerk from Southern Bell in Jacksonville, Florida and served as City Clerk for the City of Baldwin. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton, was an alumna of the Tifton Citizens Police Academy and also a charter member of the Tifton Genealogical Society. Because her dad was a truck driver, she always loved big trucks, helping drivers in need, talking on her CB radio as “Jacksonville Lady Byrd", and served as assistant to the Chaplain of Tifton/Pilot Truck Stop Ministries.

Mrs. Hall is survived by three sons, Earl Byrd of Jacksonville, Florida, Gary Byrd of Wichita Falls, Texas and Tyrien Byrd of Jacksonville, Florida; four daughters, Martha Courson of Hoboken, Pam Fletcher of Valdeze, North Carolina, Jan Copeland of Macclenny, Florida and Robin Bartley of Winfield, Missouri; one sister, Kathy Marchant of Tifton; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
