Irene C. (Buyniski) Rice, 84, of Worcester died Tuesday, May 15th in UMass Memorial Hospital-University Campus. Her husband, Attorney Benjamin J. Rice died in 1995. She is survived by her son, Paul B. Rice of Worcester; and her daughter, Diane L. Waice, wife of Dr. Leonard Waice of Holden; and three granddaughters, Amanda J. Rank, Jennifer A. Pappas and Heather L. Waice. Her sister, J. Rose Wondolowski died in 2009.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph P. and Josephine H. (Tralka) Buyniski. Mrs. Rice attended West Brook Junior College in Maine; and was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish.
Her funeral Mass is Friday, May 18th at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
