SPRINGFIELD - Christine F. “Chris” (Hill) Valois, 80, of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Springfield on October 12, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth M. (Flanaghan) Hill. She was raised in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was last employed in the protection bureau at the former Forbes & Wallace Department Store in Springfield before retiring in 1960. She was a member of the Westover Club in Chicopee and a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Victor V. Valois, Sr., who was Called Home on July 31, 1995; and her dear sister, Helen Daley. She leaves: her loving children, Victor V. Valois, Jr. of East Longmeadow and Elizabeth M. Leblond of Springfield; her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin and Destiny Valois and Nicholas and Alexis Leblond; her dear brother, Charles A. Hill and his wife, Theresa, of Springfield; her dear sisters, Theresa Loughnane of Springfield and Patricia Borgatti of Agawam; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, May 19, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129.
