FRANCONIA, John L., 76, of Jeffersontown, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his home.
He was the owner and operator of the John Franconia Trucking Company for 52 years. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He sponsored many youth sports programs in Jeffersontown.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Franconia.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Gloria Carpenter; children, Jimmy (Angie), Steve (Kim), Jon Eric and Kim Franconia; brother, Jerry Franconia; sisters, Doris Oechsle and Joan Ballard; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His service will be 10am Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr., with burial in St. Edward Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8pm Thursday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road.
