Anna F. (Shanahan) Olsen of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Melrose – Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 89 years of age.
Born in South Groveland, Massachusetts she was the loving daughter of the late Francis Shanahan and Agnes (McGinley) Shanahan. Anna was a warm and caring daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all.
Anna was a dedicated and caring Registered Nurse for the New England Memorial Hospital for many years. A devout Catholic, Anna could be found everyday at Mass at St. Patrick’s Church. Anna was a driver for Fish. She had a love of her family that was paramount in her life. She enjoyed going to Hampton Beach and watching the Boston Red Sox.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert W. Olsen. She was the devoted mother of Ronald F. Olsen and his wife Susan, Richard J. Olsen and his wife Karen, Edward J. Olsen and his wife Mary, Kathleen A. Tobin and her husband Robert, James J. Olsen and his wife Denine, late Robert W. Olsen and his surviving wife Jeanette. Anna was the proud and cherished grandmother of twenty-one grandchildren and great grandmother of eight great grandchildren. Anna was the dear sister of Mary I. Cleary and the late Francis A. Shanahan, John M. Shanahan, Paul J. Shanahan, Joseph W. Shanahan, Leonard G. Shanahan and Agnes C. Brent.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Monday 4-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
