Dorothy E. Mortimer, 90, of Mitchell Avenue, Derry, NH died Saturday February 23, 2002 under the care of hospice at the Hospice House, Concord. She was born in Shelburne Falls, MA on March 30, 1911, a daughter of the late Eugene and Araminnie (Perrault) Tetreault. She was a lifelong Derry resident. Mrs. Mortimer was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry. She was also a member of the Tabernacle Society. She was employed by Chelmsford Shoe Co. and later by Jody Shoe Co., both of Derry. She contributed to numerous animal protection societies and several charities faithfully.
She is survived by her sister, Doris T. Brassard, Sun City Center, FL, three nieces, Paula J. Curtis, Sun City Center, FL, Jean Foy, North Carolina, Judy Foley, Massachusetts, three nephews, Paul J. Brassard, Londonderry, NH, Peter J. Brassard, Mark J. Brassard, both of Derry, NH, numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband John W. Mortimer in 1971 and by two brothers, Ernest Tetreault and George Tetreault.
A Mass of Christian burial will celebrated on Tuesday February 26, 2002 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call on Monday February 25, 2002 from 6-8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham VNA and Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833 or to the Hospice House of Concord, 240 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.
