Obituary

Mr. Ralph J. Nastri, 83 of Reading, formerly of Medford died on Friday in Lahey Clinic following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Joan J. (Martino) Nastri. With whom he was married for more than 53 years. Born in Bristol, RI, son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Tamburro) Nastri, he spent his early years there and is a graduate of Bristol High School, class of 1947. Shortly after High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served our country during the Korean War. During this time he received injuries sustained in battle, earning him the Purple Heart Medal. After the service he continued his education and received a Bachelor’s Degree. He began a career in Teaching. In his spare time he loved to fish and was an avid boater with a vessel named “It’ll Do”. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, cooking and above all, spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great grandson.
He is the father of Richard Nastri and his wife Kathy of Cape Cod, Andrew and Joanne Nastri of Reading and the late Naomi Nastri. Loving Grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Alyssa, Andrea and Nicholas Nastri, Great Grandfather of Aidan Nastri. Dear brother of the late Martha Bottomly. Ralph is also survived by a niece and three nephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
