Arthur H. Tobler 82, of Winchester, passed away May 10, 2012. Born in Malden, he was the son of the late Henry R. and Mary (Whitcher) Tobler. Mr. Tobler was a graduate of Malden High School and Boston University. An Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, Arthur spent his professional career with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the FDIC. In retirement, Arthur enjoyed dancing - in particular, country western, dabbling in day trading, spending time at the beach with friends, reading and attending theater. He was the beloved father of Heidi Sakanaka and her husband, Hisaji, of Harrison, NY, Susan Tobler and her husband, Brad Durham, of Carlisle, MA, Mark Tobler of New Orleans, LA, and Pamela Tobler and her husband, Guy D'Annolfo, of Concord, MA, and the dear brother of Patricia Tobler Davidson and her husband Charles of Plaistow, NH and the late Jean Tobler LeLievre and Mary Tobler Kreconus. Mr. Tobler is further survived by his four granddaughters: Mikie and Mihoko Sakanaka and Nicola and Camilla Durham, and many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Mon., May 14 at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Arthur’s name may be made to Wayside Hospice, 266 Cochituate Rd. Wayland, MA 01778.
