NASHUA, NH - Ruth B. (Cote) McGurl, 78, a former secretary at Lahey Clinic, died Thursday,April 22, at the Greenbrier Nursing Care Facility in Nashua, after a gallant three year battle withlung cancer. She was the wife of the late James T. McGurl, who died in Oct. 1997.
She was born in Boston, Mar. 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine(Cunningham) Cote. She was raised in Brighton, and graduated Notre Dame High School inBoston. She matriculated to Chandler Business School in Boston. She raised her family inTewksbury, and lived there the greater part of her life. She moved to Nashua in 1984.
She worked for many years for Lahey Clinic as a secretary. Later, as she raised her family, shewas a waitress at Skip’s Restaurant in Chelmsford.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, and the Immaculate ConceptionChurch in Nashua.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Beth and her husband Rick Goulart, andDorothea Dennis all of Nashua, NH; four grandchildren, Shawn Dennis, Janice Quinn, RichardGoulart Jr., Tanya Goulart; seven great grandchildren, Dylan, Katie, Brandon, Kyle, Haley,Sirena, and Kyleigh.
She was also sister of the late Fred Cote, and Robert Cote.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, April 26, in St.Mary’s Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
