Robert D. Giampietro, 71, of Walpole died May 10 in the Harrington House in Walpole.
Born in Norwood, April 13, 1941, the son of the late Antonio and Sabina (Lamonica) Giampietro, Mr. Giampietro was a lifelong Walpole resident.
Mr. Giampietro attended Walpole schools and had worked at the Walpole Stop and Shop for 15 years before retiring. He had previously worked for many years at the Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton.
Mr. Giampietro served in the Army during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th grade.
He is survived by his brother Andrew “Gump” and his wife Mary Giampietro of Walpole, Warren and his wife Mary Giampietro of Norwood and Nancy Brown and her husband Fred of Norton.
He was the brother of the late Annie and Nicholas Giampietro and Mary Pedini. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
