Obituary

Luz E. Agostini, long time Chelsea resident, died May 10th, 2012 at the Genesis Rehab and Nursing Skilled Center, where she had been receiving supportive care for the past several years. She was 87 years old.

Born in Las Marias, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Agostini and the late Librada Rodriguez. She immigrated to New York as a young adult, where she worked as a factory (assembly) worker. In 1982, she moved to Chelsea, Massachusetts to be closer to her siblings. She spent her time babysitting children, visiting friends, dancing, crocheting, and playing BINGO. She is survived by her son Jorge Rodriguez and his wife Joann, of San Juan, Puerto Rico and two grandchildren, Diego and Dario.
She was beloved sister of Monserrate “Adria” Agostini de Feliciano of Puerto Rico, the late Marta Agostini, Baudilio Agostini of New York, Pedro “Rene” Agostini of Chelsea, Esperanza “Sofia” Agostini of Puerto Rico, Ismael Agostini of Chelsea, Elizabeth Agostini of Chelsea, and Esteban “Ramon” Agostini of Florida; and stepsister of Iris Agostini of New York, the late Reino Agostini, the late Inais “Nany” Agostini, and Carmen “Tity” Agostini of Puerto Rico. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews including Carolyn Boumila-Vega of Chelsea.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Saturday, May 12th from 3-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Cementerio Municipal in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
