Obituary

MARLBOROUGH: Albert F. Rogers, Jr., 80, died peacefully on Sunday evening May 6, 2012 following a brief period of declining health.
He was born in Waltham on May 21, 1931 the son of the late Albert F. Rogers, Sr. and Lucille (Perry) Rogers.
Al was the beloved husband for 62 years of the late Josephine M. (Falzone) Rogers who died on January 14, 2010.
He is survived by his devoted sons, Mark W. Rogers and his wife Lynn of Baltimore, MD and Scott M. Rogers and his wife Emiko of Malvern, Australia. He was the father of the late Lisa J. Kelly who died on October 30, 2003. Also survived by two grandchildren Eric W. Kelly and Brandon R. Kelly both of Bellingham.
Al spent his formative years in Waltham and was educated through the Waltham school system.
He had been a resident of Wayland for the past 50 years and recently moved to Marlborough in April of 2011.
Al had a long and distinguished career as a Manufacturers Representative in the field of woman’s apparel throughout the New England area and with several well known companies. He enjoyed his pastime and passion for restoring foreign sports cars and was well respected and knowledgeable about restoration. He also enjoyed time spent with his family on summer vacations on Martha’s Vineyard and fishing in favorite spots in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. In recent years he enjoyed tinkering with computers and figuring out their challenges.
At his request there will be no funeral home visitations and funeral services will be private for his family.
In lieu of flowers his family suggests that memorial gifts in Al’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
