Obituary

Elizabeth I. Krisko, 71, formerly of Hampton, New Hampshire, died peacefully at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers on Tuesday morning. She was the devoted wife of the late Stephen J. Krisko with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Amos and Hilda Hilton, formerly of Danvers. Elizabeth raised a family of four children, after which she embarked on her lifelong career in nursing. She attended the University of Massachusetts in Boston where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at J.B. Thomas hospital in Peabody before moving to Jacksonville, Florida. In Jacksonville Mrs. Krisko was employed as a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Baptist Medical Center. Elizabeth worked briefly as a nurse manager, but missed the contact with patients and became a visiting nurse. Returning to Hampton, Mrs. Krisko and a team of professional doctors and nurses opened a free clinic to support the off season population in the Hampton Beach area. As a visiting nurse on the seacoast of New Hampshire, Elizabeth devoted much of her time visiting patients. In 2009, Elizabeth completed a course as a wound care specialist, an achievement that attests to her professionalism and dedication to her field. Elizabeth was awarded a citation from Governor Lynch in 2011 for her work and contributions at the Hampton Free Medical Clinic.
Elizabeth’s hobbies included gardening, shopping, traveling with her husband and visiting her favorite New England restaurants. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children, Stephen Krisko Jr. of Key West, Fl., Paul Krisko and his wife Christine of Danvers, Wendy Gibson and her husband Drew of Jacksonville, Fl., Robert Krisko and his wife Milissa of Germantown, MD; and her beloved grandchildren, Robert Krisko, Amelia Krisko, Anna Krisko, Caden Gibson, and Matthew Krisko. She also leaves her siblings, a brother, David Hilton of Tucson, AZ and sisters, Joyce Tucker of St. James City, Fl., and Carol Talbot of Beverly.
