Obituary

Evans, GA – SGM Terry D. Gregory, US Army, Ret. 79, of Grovetown,GA, entered into rest on May 6, 2012 at the residence following an extended illness.

Born in Erwin, TN, SGM Gregory joined The US Army at a young age and served his country faithfully until the time of his retirement having served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. SGM Gregory received many awards during his enlistment to include the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation w/Palm, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Korean Service Medal and Meritorious Service Medal just to name a few. Following his retirement from the military, SGM Gregory taught JR ROTC for many years at Incline High School in Incline Village, NV. SGM Gregory met and married the love of his life, Peggy C. Miller Garland of Johnson City, TN, and the couple made Augusta their home for the last 10 years to be closer to family. SGM Gregory enjoyed fishing and hunting and “Tinkering” around on his RV.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy. He leaves behind to mourn his death his step-son Larry D. Miller (Donna) of Augusta, GA, step-daughter Mary Lou Miller of Martinez, GA, step grandchildren Jerry W. Morgan of Harrodsburg, KY. And Kelli M. Pierson (Trip) of Martinez, GA and two step-great grand sons, James W. Pierson and Austin Drew Pierson of Martinez, GA, as well as a host of friends and associates.

SGM Gregory will be transported to Johnson City, TN., for interment at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with full military honors.
