Obituary

Kathryn “Kati” Fahey-Moody(nee Fahey), age 34, of Carteret, formerly of Palisades Park and No. Bergen died quietly at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday May 5. Devoted wife of Officer John S. Moody, Carteret Police Dept. Loving daughter of Thomas and Barbara Fahey Jr. of Lanoka Harbor, formerly of Palisades Park, No. Bergen and Jersey City. Dear sister of Thomas Fahey III and his wife Jacqueline of New Milford. Kati was also survived by “her Gram” Helen Mulvihill of Red Bank formerly of No Bergen and many caring Aunts and Uncles and countless loving cousins. She is also survived by her dear Father and Mother-in-Law, William and Emma Moody of Carteret and dear Sister-in-law Lynn Moody of Eatontown. Kati is also survived by her close and dear friend Joyce Donatelli, John Witkowski and many other dear friends.

Kati attended grammar school in No. Bergen and played softball for the Naturals, No Bergen Rec. League. She graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels, HS in Demarest Class of 1995 and received a BFA in Communications Design with Emphasis in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute Class of 1999. She was employed with The Law Book Exchange, Clark, NJ as a Graphic Designer where she designed book covers and sales catalogs for reprinted antique law books. Kati also volunteered her skills for organizations by designing posters for Charitable Events. During High School and College years she was employed by the Volk Leber Funeral Home, Teaneck, NJ. Kati was a lover of the outdoors and became an accomplished kayaker and fisherman. During her illness she became a skilled knitter and crocheter always making baby blankets for the latest new arrivals. Kati was an avid sports fan, a loyal Yankee fan and was the guest of the Yankee Organization for the 2012 Opening Day ceremonies.



Visiting will be Tuesday 6-9 PM at the Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave, Carteret, NJ 07008 (please send flowers for Tuesday’s Visiting here) 732-541-5715. Then on Wednesday the visiting will move to the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd, Teaneck, 201-836-0202 from 6-9 PM. Funeral Thursday 9:30 AM from Volk Leber funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Leonia. Cremation will be private. Donations in her memory to the Carteret PBA Fishing Derby, PO Box 58, Carteret, NJ 07008.
