Obituary

WORCESTER: Ruth H. (Shlora) Hallinan, 91, of 65 Lake Avenue, died late Thursday evening, May 3, 2012 at UMass Memorial Healthcare- University Campus, after a brief illness. She would have marked her 92nd birthday on Friday, May 4. Her husband of 35 years, Henry P. Hallinan, died September 5, 1988.
She leaves 2 sons, Kevin P. Hallinan and his wife Betty of Stamford, CT, Jeffrey M. Hallinan and his wife Lynne of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, Shawn Hallinan and his wife Becca and son Connor, Caitlin, Megan, Matthew and Kirsten Hallinan. Her brother, Raymond B. Shlora of Rye, NY and her sister, Clara L. Trinder of Worcester, both predeceased her. She was born in Upton, daughter of the late Walter F. and Helen (Ramacka) Shlora. She graduated from Commerce High School, attended Becker Junior College, and lived most of her life in Worcester.
Ruth was an office manager at the Worcester District Medical Bureau of Economics where she worked for many years before retiring. She was previously an office manager at Ulian’s Clothing Store for several years. She had also worked as a volunteer with the Red Cross at Worcester City Hospital and had been a nurse’s aide during World War II. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury, Maronis Park, the Knights of Lithuania and the AARP.
A CALLING HOUR will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 A.M. on MONDAY, MAY 7 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by A FUNERAL MASS at 11 A.M. at ST. ANNE’S CHURCH, 130 Boston Turnpike (Route 9) in Shrewsbury, MA. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
