DONALD EDWARD “DONNIE” HAMILTON, 69, born December 18, 1942, died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 3, 2012 following a two year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
He was a retired employee of Temple-Inland Container and the United States Postal Service, and a member of Grace Crossing Church, where he served as an elder.
In addition to his parents, William Donald and Verena Elizabeth, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leo Bush and William Joseph Hamilton, and a son, Donald Edward Hamilton, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Elizabeth Hamilton; sons, Bryan William Hamilton (Sheri) and Paul Joseph Hamilton (Bridget); brothers, Dr. Earl Bush (Dereth), Michael Hamilton (Lynn), Richard Hamilton (Donna); sisters, Janice Saultzman (Eddie), Mary Rambo (Jimmie), Cathy Vance (Richard); ten grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. Monday.
