Obituary

Wallace Pike Wetherbee, 88, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. He leaves his wife of over 60 years, Virginia E. (Briere) Wetherbee; two sons Bruce and his wife Jean Wetherbee of Worcester and Jeffrey and his wife Amy Wetherbee of St. Petersburg, FL; one grandson Adam and his wife Ashley Wetherbee of CT; a sister Phyllis Lumb; and many nieces and nephews. A brother David and a sister Martha predeceased him.



Wally was born in Worcester, son of Kenneth and Olive (Pike) Wetherbee. He owned and operated Wetherbee and Co. Inc., a book bindery company where he also served as President. He was an "Honorary Life" member of the Forbush Bird Club, an organization he had been a member of since he was a boy. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.



A private Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham MA 01701.
