Jeanne (McKinley) Amico, 81, of Winchester, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 2, 2012, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo P. Amico. A lifelong resident of Winchester, Mrs. Amico and her late husband raised and educated their family in town, where she was active in the community. A Winchester Town Meeting member for many years, Jeanne was very involved in town politics. As a secretary, she worked in various Winchester public schools, primarily as secretary to the principal at Muraco Elementary School. In that position, she also volunteered her time with many school committees. In her spare time, Jeanne was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW of Winchester and the American Legion of Woburn. After retirement, Jeanne, known for her incredible sense of organization, enjoyed doing crafts with her husband, and spending time with her friends and family. Jeanne will be remembered as a very caring and giving person who was especially proud of and delighted in her grandchildren. She was the loving mother of David Barstow and wife Deb of Methuen, Michael Amico of Dorchester, James Amico and wife Pam of Woburn, Edward Amico of Winthrop, Jeanne Gigli and husband Al of Winchester and Jane Errico and husband Ken of North Andover, the late Steven Barstow and his wife Penny of VA and the late Paul Amico and wife Cookie of FL, and the dear Nana to Matthew Amico, AJ Gigli, Jessie Barstow, Sara Gigli, Victoria Amico, Jaimee Amico, Tucker Barstow, Allison Barstow, Bethany Barstow, Dylan Barstow, Grace Amico and Megan Amico. She was the sister of Judith Snell, Joan Scrouton, Harold and John McKinley, and is further survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services and interment are private.
