Obituary

Dwight Morrow Tatum, age 69, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Born in Yalobusha County to the late Alden and Helen Coker Tatum, he served his country in the United States Army during the Berlin Conflict and returned home to work until retirement at Big Yank and at Bondafoam. Dwight was a faithful member of the Water Valley VFW, the International Order of Odd Fellows, and Sylva Rena Baptist Church.

Services are planned for 10 AM Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Roberson and Bro. James West officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Frank B. Brooks, Travis Brooks, John Wood, Ronnie Tatum, Bill Norris, Allen McCullar, and Joe Pullen serving as pallbearers. Deacons of Sylva Rena Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Friday, May 5, 2012 from 5 until 7 PM.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Martha McCullar Tatum of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Kim (David) Wallis and Debra (Thomas West) Tatum, both of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Helen Radford of Southaven, MS and Joy Overman of St. Genevieve, MO; three brothers, Harold (Norma) Tatum of Southaven, Bill (Sarah) Tatum of Starkville, MS, and Ronald K. (Pam) Tatum of Fresno, CA; and two grandchildren, Cody Inman and Thomas Henry West, both of Water Valley, MS.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Mann and Dene Allen; and one brother, Carson Tatum.
